Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

OVERVIEW

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a part of the reaffirmation process directed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the regional accrediting body for higher education. The QEP affirms the commitment of the Commission of Colleges to enhancing the quality of higher education in the region and to focusing attention on student learning. The QEP describes a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution.

Events

Events associated with the Quality Enhancement Plan follow in reverse order:

  1. September 6, 2023Trifold handout updated.
  2. August 20, 2023:  Document completed.
  3. August 16, 2023:  Committee met to discuss the final draft.
  4. February 20, 2023:  The SACSCOC Leadership Team and the Quality Enhancement Plan Committee completed a four-page summary of the QEP that was included with the Compliance Certification.
  5. February 17, 2023:  The Committee decided on the logo for the QEP (see above).
  6. October 23, 2022:  Board of Regents updated Academic Affairs Policy 2.18.
  7. September 22, 2022:  QEP Survey Results announced.
  8. September 8, 2022:  Initial email sent to potential Quality Enhancement Plan Committee Members.
  9. September 6, 2022:  Possible topics survey emailed to faculty, staff, and all students over the age of 18.
  10. April 25, 2022:  Co-requisite discussion with Mathematics and English faculty.
  11. April 3, 2022:  Summary of all preliminary discussions related to the Quality Enhancement Plan.
  12. March 23, 2022:  Board of Regents Academic Affairs Policy 2.18 Gateway Mathematics and English Course Requirements.
  13. September 17, 2022:  Disaggregated Success Rates by Ethnicity, Gender, and Socioeconomic Status for Courses with the Highest Enrollment Academic Year 2021-2022.
  14. August 21, 2022:   An Investigation into the Longitudinal Success and Withdrawal Rates AY 2021-2022 was presented to the Chancellor's Extended Cabinet on August 23, 2022.
  15. December 17, 2021:  An Investigation into Longitudinal Retention Rates paper presented to Cabinet on December 14, 2021 and Academic Council December 16, 2021.
  16. November 24, 2021:  An Investigation into Success and Withdrawal Rates AY 2020-2021 paper presented to Cabinet on November 30, 2021 and Faculty Senate on November 29, 2021.
  17. October 26, 2021:  Disaggregated Success Rates by Ethnicity, Gender, and Socioeconomic Status for Courses with the Highest Enrollment Academic Year 2020-2021.
