Ochsner Lafayette General's Patrick Gandy, Jr. To Give LSUE Commencement Address

EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice is proud to announce that Ochsner Lafayette General Chief Executive Officer Patrick Gandy, Jr. will deliver the keynote address during the 2026 Spring Commencement on Friday, May 15 during the 2:00PM ceremony inside the HPRE Center on the LSUE campus. 

Gandy, Jr. oversees a local network of eight hospitals, including Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center (Ochsner LGMC), more than 50 clinic locations and more than 5,400 employees.  A Certified Public Accountant, Gandy, Jr. joined Ochsner LGMC in 1993, holding multiple senior management positions throughout the system.

He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.  Gandy, Jr. also serves as a member of the Legislative, Regulatory and Policy Council of the Louisiana Hospital Association, a board member of the Louisiana Hospital Association’s Political Action Committee (HOSPPAC), a board member of Vizient Southern States, and a Foundation board member of South Louisiana Community College.

Gandy, Jr. earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Louisiana State University Shreveport, and an MBA with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
