The Resident Assistant is a student position under the Office of University Housing at LSUE. This student position is required to live on campus in housing to assist residents in a variety of ways, ensuring their opportunity for success at the university. The RA serves as a liaison between the university and residential community to bridge gaps and provide solid connections that will serve to benefit the holistic development of the every resident.
The RA is expected to know their community on a personal level in order to be able to advise and support residents on personal and academic matters. In order to help achieve this, RAs are expected to create and encourage residents to attend activities and programs that will serve to bring them together as a community and meet the personal, social, and academic needs of their residents. The RA will serve as a role model in every aspect of their student life and is expected to have knowledge of various campus resources that may be used to assist their residents.
