Terrence "Buster" Ray Gahn Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The Terrence "Buster" Ray Gahn Jr. Memorial Scholarship is presented to Fire Captain Clebe by LSUE Instructor Rodolphe Toranto, LSUE Chancellor Nancee Sorenson, and the wife of Terrence Gahn, Rose Gahn
The Terrence "Buster" Ray Gahn Jr. Memorial Scholarship supports qualified students currently enrolled in LSUE's Fire and Emergency Services Associate of Applied Science Degree Program. Eligible recipient(s) must be active emergency response personnel serving in Lafayette Parish or the Acadiana region. The scholarship provides professional firefighters in the Lafayette area with dedicated financial assistance to help them further their education in the field.

The memorial scholarship is named in honor of Terrence "Buster" Ray Gahn Jr. (1957-2021), an accomplished Lafayette firefighter and arson investigator. Gahn served the Lafayette fire department for 34 years, joining in 1982 and retiring in 2016. He led by example, demonstrating unwavering dedication to providing for his community.

Fire Captain Clebe Stutes is the first recipient of the memorial scholarship (pictured above). Captain Stutes currently serves with the Lafayette Parish Fire department. This scholarship will support him as he works toward his Associate of Applied Science in Fire and Emergency Services at LSUE.

Work is currently underway to secure enough funding to endow the scholarship so it will be permanently funded.
