This course introduces the fundamental concepts and theories of Microeconomics. Topics are covered such as demand, supply and theories of price determination, elasticity, consumer choice theory, production, market structure, trade, externalities and public goods. Credit will not be given for both this course and ECON 2030. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in this course to receive a degree or a certificate within the Division of Health Science and Business Technology.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or better in BADM 1001 and must be eligible to enroll in MATH 1015 or MATH 1020 (CMAT 1213) or MATH 1021; or approval of Dean.

Lec. 3; Cr. 3

This course introduces the fundamental concepts and theories of Macroeconomics. Topics are covered such as GDP (gross domestic product), business cycle, national income, economic growth, unemployment, inflation, Fiscal and Monetary policy, Federal Reserve System, international trade and finance. Credit will not be given for both this course and ECON 2030. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in this course to receive a degree or a certificate within the Division of Health Science and Business Technology.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or better in BADM 1001 and must be eligible to enroll in MATH 1015 or MATH 1020 (CMAT 1213) or MATH 1021 ; or approval of Dean.

An introduction to microcomputer applications and the use of software packages such as operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and database to solve business problems. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in this course to receive a degree or a certificate within the Division of Health Science and Business Technology.

Prerequisite(s): Credit in MATH 1015 or MATH 1020 (CMAT 1213) or MATH 1021 or permission of the Dean, Division of Health Sciences and Business Technology.

Principles and methods of accounting concerned with financial data gathering and presentation in the form of external financial statements; legal and ethical obligations of the accounting profession. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in this course to receive a degree or a certificate within the Division of Health Sciences and Business Technology.

Prerequisite(s): Must be eligible to enroll in MATH 1015 or higher. Degree credit will not be given for both this course and ACCT 1001.

Principles and methods of accounting primarily concerned with data gathering and presentation for purposes of internal management evaluation and decision-making. A grade of “C” or better must be earned in this course to receive degree credit within the Division of Health Sciences and Business Technology.

Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or better in ACCT 2001.
