In preparation for the upcoming Fall 2021 semester, LSU Eunice will implement guidelines that are in accordance with the recommendations put forth by the CDC as well as recent mandates put in place by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
We will follow state recommendations as masks will be required beginning Wednesday, August 4 inside all buildings on campus for both vaccinated and non-vaccinated people.
Our classrooms for Fall 2021 are expected to be at 100% capacity with masking in place. As was the case last academic year, in-person classes will be recorded so that students who are feeling ill can review coursework virtually. We also plan to continue our use of the ‘Daily Symptom Checker’ through LSU.
Additional safety measures will be in place throughout campus buildings including HEPA air filters in classrooms, touchless water fountains placed throughout campus and touchless water faucets in bathrooms.
We want to encourage our LSU Eunice community to help get us back on track – vaccinate! If you are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, it will be available through the WellSmart Clinic inside the Mumphrey Center. COVID-19 testing can also be accessed through the WellSmart Clinic.
The LSU Eunice community stood tall last year in the face of new challenges presented by COVID-19. I am confident that we will again rise to the occasion and enjoy another great year. We will monitor the COVID-19 pandemic daily and adjust our protocols as it is warranted.
