EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice will play a softball game with CAT5 Resources on Tuesday, October 20 as a goodwill game followed by a free barbecue open to the public. The festivities from the Lady Bengal Field is set to begin at 6:00PM.
Cat5 Resources is a Texas-based company that has been stationed at LSUE since the lead up to Hurricane Delta. The company helps assist state and local municipalities, as well as telecom companies, by providing disaster recovery services as well as power and connectivity during severe weather events.
The company has responded to every natural disaster to hit the United States since 2004.
“We have developed such a great relationship with the folks at Cat 5 Resources in such a short time,” LSU Eunice Chancellor Dr. Nancee Sorenson said. “They were instrumental in getting LSUE back up and running after Delta as well as the greater Eunice area. We thought this would be a great way for us to thank them for all their efforts.”
Cat 5 Resources went out of their way to help power the LSUE campus with generators after Hurricane Delta as well as large debris clean up.
“I’ve been so impressed with Cat 5’s call to help those in need, something we preach to our student-athletes every day,” LSU Eunice athletic director Jeff Willis said. “I’m looking forward to sending them off with a great night of fun.”
Cat 5 will also make a donation to help the LSUE community in its recovery efforts following Hurricanes Laura and Delta.
