Dear LSU Eunice Community,
As you have read, the LSU system announced that all instruction will move to an online format as of March 30th to provide a proactive and safety conscious response to COVID-19 (coronavirus). In addition, all in-person classes the week of March 16th thru March 20th will be cancelled to allow our faculty and deans additional time to prepare for electronic instruction. Clinical and practicum instruction will not be interrupted and will continue as scheduled.
Keeping the needs of students and employees in the forefront, LSUE will be open and staff will report to work in all areas of the college. Students will continue to receive all student and academic support services, including the Student Success Center, Testing Center, Library, computer labs, modular math lab, health clinic, bookstore and food services. Bengal Village will remain open for all current residents. Student clubs and organizations may continue to meet and Bengal Day will take place this Saturday, March 14th. We are looking forward to a large and enthusiastic group of future Bengals!
It is important to note that there are no known cases of COVID-19 at LSUE. We will continue to support one another and collaborate across the campus to identify issues and concerns that need special attention to be effectively addressed. More information about the status of scheduled athletic competitions will be forthcoming from Athletic Director Jeff Willis as those conference decisions are concluded.
Your patience and understanding is deeply appreciated and valued. Like Tom Galligan, Interim LSU President, I am proud of all of you as together we address evolving opportunities and challenges leading to the successful completion of the semester.
For more information about COVID-19 and safety measures you can take to safeguard from the virus, please visit lsue.edu or lsu.edu/coronavirus.
All the best,
Dr. Nancee Sorenson
LSU Eunice Chancellor
