What is Developmental Education?

A developmental approach to education involves looking at the whole person and helping each student achieve their goals. The program is based upon successful methods of instruction. Students have access to proven policies, courses, and services that strengthen basic skills necessary for success in college.

Mission Statement

Using the best practices in the field as defined by the National Center for Developmental Education, the Pathways to Success program exists to provide a holistic approach to developmental education so that LSU Eunice may better assist underprepared students in the achievement of their educational and personal goals.

In working to maintain an effective developmental education program, Pathways to Success will provide students the necessary support for the successful completion of

  1. Their developmental education coursework
  2. Their first general education course in English, mathematics, and social science.

What is Pathways to Success?

Students who score a composite score of 15 or below on the ACT, or who do not have any ACT score, are automatically enrolled in Pathways and may not opt out of the program.  Other students may request admission into the program by contacting the Student Success Center at 337-550-1206 or in the Science Building room 146.
