What is Online Accessibility?  Why is it Important?

LSUE is committed to making sure that everyone has the opportunity to access the University’s knowledge, ideas, and resources.

Online accessibility describes the practice of publishing online content that works for users with a wide range of abilities and disabilities.  It also involves providing equally effective alternative access for users to receive information or services if the primary online method does not work.

Online accessibility is important because it demonstrates inclusiveness and makes all materials usable for people of all abilities. Adhering to accessibility standards improves the experience for all users and makes it easier for users to accomplish tasks and complete goals.
