Biological Sciences

Majoring in Biological Sciences is an excellent way to prepare for careers in the health sciences industry including dentistry, medicine, pharmacy, and many others. Students will complete a sequence of biology courses with the associated labs.

As an alternative to taking all of the science options, a student interested in further study in biological science majors may choose to add more courses in the Humanities area, e.g., foreign language (6-12 hours) to the degree plan in preparation for transfer into a baccalaureate program. Advisors, and the university catalogs and links on the articulation web site (www.latransferdegree.org) can provide more guidance on specific course recommendations depending on the student’s area of interest and anticipated baccalaureate major.
