Sonography Gets High Tech Model
The LSU Eunice Diagnostic Medical Sonography department recently received a FAST Exam Real Time Ultrasound training model through a Louisiana Community and Technical College System Rapid Response Grant.
The new model is the first fully imageable Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (FAST) ultrasound training model that offers superb realism. Students will experience outstanding ultrasound imaging characteristics of the structures in the thorax, right upper quadrant, left upper quadrant, abdomen, and pelvis while encountering the same imaging challenges as found in a human patient such as applying the adequate transducer pressure in order to obtain images, bowel gas and intercostal access.

Rad Tech Students Receive Pins
LSU Eunice Radiologic Technology graduates received their pins at the annual pinning ceremony.
Receiving top honors at the ceremony was Justin Junot and Dawn Williams. Junot earned the Outstanding Scholastic Student Award and the Outstanding Clinical Award at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. William also won the Outstanding Scholastic Student Award and the Outstanding Clinical Award at Opelousas General Health System.
Earning the Outstanding Achievement Award was Ashley Tezeno, and Wesly Murff was named Distinguished Senior Student.
