Award Descriptions:

Dual Enrollment Awards

Outstanding Dual Enrollment Performance Awards - Teachers and administrators at high schools with students dually enrolled with LSUE can nominate up to two (2) students who have demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.  These students have been able to successfully balance both high school and collegiate academic requirements while continuing to represent their schools in clubs, sports, and/or other outside of the classroom activities.

LSUE Academy Outstanding Student of the Year Award - This award will be presented to an outstanding LSUE Academy student who has been able to master college-level coursework while excelling in their high school coursework at the same time. LSUE Academy students are tasked with completion of these requirements in face-to-face classes on both the college and high school campuses. This student has shown that he/she is able to navigate the many challenges associated with this high level of academic rigor while continuing to represent their schools in clubs, sports, and/or other outside of the classroom activities.

Student Organization Awards

Advisor of the Year Award - This award will be presented to the student organization advisor who has created a supportive environment within which their leaders work. The recipient is an example of how an advisor can be instrumental in helping members grow, learn, develop, and make a positive impact.

New Student Organization of the Year Award - This award will be presented to a new student organization that has made strides in recruiting members, retaining members, and completing organizational goals.

Program of the Year Award - This award will be presented to the student organization-sponsored campus program that successfully met its goals and had a far-reaching and lasting impact on the campus community.

Student Organization of the Year Award - This award will be presented to the student organization that has successfully met its goals and made a lasting impact on the campus. The organization should demonstrate success and diversity in its initiatives and membership and should demonstrate how members effectively worked as a team towards the achievement of organizational goals.

Student Leadership and Service Awards 

Outstanding Student Leadership Award - This award will be presented to the student who has demonstrated outstanding organizational skills, good interpersonal and communication skills with peers and professionals, and university and community involvement. This student carries himself/herself with confidence and acts with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Outstanding University Service Award - This award will be presented to a student who has dedicated his or her time and energy to assist organizations, instructors, and/or other groups or individuals within the institution towards the achievement of goals, receiving little to no compensation for efforts.

Athletes of the Year Awards

Male and Female Athletes of the Year Awards - These students are nominated by coaches or other players who want to recognize a student athlete’s stellar academic achievement, performance on the field/court, and their selfless service to the campus and to the community. These individuals are leaders both on and off the field and represent LSUE with integrity and Bengal pride.

Academic Division Students of the Year Awards

Description: Faculty members and Deans will be invited to nominate students within their division for these awards, which will be presented to one student within each of the three academic divisions who has performed exceptionally well in comparison to their peers and is considered to be a vital asset to his or her program of study.

Outstanding Students of the Year Awards

Description: These awards are reserved for the most exceptional freshman, sophomore, and unclassified students at the University. These students have not only demonstrated mastery of their respective fields of study, but they have been leaders amongst their peers and have embodied the highest standards of professionalism and integrity when representing the University.
