New Tobacco Policy in Place

The LSU Eunice administration announced that a smoking and the use of tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and other tobacco products are prohibited on the LSU Eunice campus except in the following areas:

Acadian Center:  Rear of the building, between Acadian Center and Health Technology Building.

Acadian Center:  Rear of the building, southwest corner.

Health and Physical Education Building:  Rear of the building, between HPE Building and Community Education Building.

Manuel Hall: Rear of the building, between Manuel Hall and MX1/MX2.

Science Building:  Rear of the building, southwest corner.

 

In recent studies at LSU Eunice, 90 percent of new students, 73 percent of current students and 90 percent of employees said they were tobacco free.  Because of this, the administration implemented the new tobacco use policy on campus.

The purpose of this policy is to reduce harm from the use of tobacco products and secondhand smoke; and provide a healthy learning and working environment for students and employees.
