Fall Series Announced

EUNICE - The LSU Eunice Performing Arts Series will kick off their fall 2009 season with The Juggernaut Jug Band on October 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the LSU Eunice Heath Tech Auditorium.

The Juggernaut Jug Band presents a blend of jazz, blues, ragtime, swing and original music using washboards, washtubs, kazoos, jugs, and various other sundry hardware.

The Cincinnati Enquirer said they offer "...zany showmanship...[the JJB] makes as much music as any four humans can."

Tickets for the event are $5 per adults and $3 per student. Tickets will be available at the door or in advance from the Business Office in the Science Building on the LSU Eunice campus.

Other upcoming events include "Los Gringos Calentanos" a duo composed of Tina Pilione on guitar and Paul Anastasio on fiddle. The pair will present music from the isolated region of Tierra Caliente, Mexico. "Los Gringos Calentanos" will perform October 29 at 6:30 in the Health Technology Building on the LSU Eunice campus.

At noon on November 2, the Performing Arts Series will host Ken Waldman, a poet and fiddle player who will offer his experiences about writing and publishing. He will also present his original music, stories and poetry. Waldman's presentation will be held in Room 127 of the Acadian Center on the LSU Eunice campus.
