Commencement Set for Friday, December 16

EUNICE - Garret H. Danos, chief operating officers and president of Danos & Curole Marine Contractors, LLC, will be the commencement speaker when Louisiana State University Eunice holds fall graduation ceremonies at 3 p.m. Friday, December 16, in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building.

Danos currently serves as chairman of the LSU System Board of Supervisors.

After graduating from LSU with a degree in Business Administration in 1971, Danos became the vice president of Danos & Curole, a position he held until taking over the helm of the company in 1990.

Danos & Curole is a progressive oilfield service company founded in 1947 that provides services in the areas of construction, fabrication, production personnel, painting and blasting, and a wide range of highly skilled consultants.

Danos has served on numerous boards and committees, including chairing the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and serving as president of the Louisiana Association of Oilfield Contractors. He has served on the I-49 Governor's Task Force and is a former president of the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce.

Some 100 students are candidates for graduation. Included are students who completed degree requirements during the summer as well as fall semester graduates.

LSU Eunice offers associate degrees in liberal arts, science, business information technology, criminal justice, education, fire science, general studies, management, nursing, radiologic technology, and respiratory care.
