Saxophonist Matt Corey Opens Performing Arts Series
College Solo Artist of the Year, Matt Corey, will kick off the 2013 LSU Eunice Performing Arts Series on Thursday, September 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the university's Health Technology Building auditorium.
Tickets are $4 for general admission. LSU Eunice students can enter at no charge.
Corey is currently one of the most popular performers on the college music scene, and he is the first performer ever to receive the "Best Male Solo Artist (2011-2013)" award three years in a row.
His unique show features music by Michael Jackson, Usher, Cee Lo Green, Aerosmith, Bruno Mars, Michael McDonald, Bruno Mars, Al Green, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and many other top 40 and classic hits all performed with his saxophone, two turntables, a unique instrument called the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) and his incredible band.
Corey has performed at over 350 colleges and military bases nationwide and had the opportunity to open for Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Comic Legend Gallagher, Hip Hop artist B.o.B, Far East Movement, Dave Koz, Trombone Shorty, Mike Posner, Bo Bice, Mario, George Benson, and Josh Gracin among others.
The LSU Eunice Performing Arts Series will also welcome Ruston recording artist Grant Terry to campus in October.
