LSUE registration set Aug. 18; evening students sign up Aug. 17

 

      Eunice--Registration for the fall semester on the LSU at Eunice campus will be held 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18.

       Students enrolling only in evening or Saturday classes will register 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17.

      Students can also register in advance of the regular registration period if they complete the application process and are cleared to register.

       Students will first meet with their faculty advisers to discuss their schedules and receive clearance to register. Then they can register over the computer Internet using the my.LSUE system. The name of their adviser and other registration details will be mailed to them after they apply for admission.

      Students planning to attend LSUE this fall should submit applications by Aug. 4.  A $25 nonrefundable fee must accompany applications.

      Students who participated in early registration must submit their fee bills by Aug. 17.  Anyone who has not paid by that date will be required to take part in regular registration.

      A late registration fee of $2 per credit, up to a maximum of $24, will be assessed to students who enroll after Aug. 18. Classes start Aug. 22.

      An orientation session for new and transfer students will be held 9 a.m.-12:45 p.m. beginning in the Acadian Center on Aug. 11 for students with last names A-I and on Aug. 16 for last names J-Z. 

      Adult or "nontraditional students," as well as parents and spouses of all students, can attend a family orientation 2-5 p.m. Aug. 14 in the Health Technology Building. 

      The American College Test (ACT) will be given at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, for students planning to attend LSUE.  The fee is $25, payable in the Acadian Center immediately before the test starts.  Test-takers will need a picture ID such as a driver's license. They can bring a calculator for the math portion of the test.

      Off-campus evening students may enroll by coming to LSUE 3-6 p.m. Aug. 17 or by registering on the night of the first class meetings. Classes will be held at Opelousas Senior High School, Crowley High School and Rayne High School.

      In addition, LSUE will be offering courses in medical billing and coding and in environmental health and safety compliance at the Learning Center for Rapides Parish in Alexandria.       Tuition is $87.75 per course credit up to a maximum of $1.047.75 for 12 or more credits.
