The University

LSU Eunice is LSU’s only comprehensive community college in the state.  Courses and programs are easily transferable within the LSU family of institutions and at all other Louisiana public universities.  The majority of LSU Eunice faculty possess the highest level of degree in their respective teaching fields providing students with a high quality learning environment.  LSU Eunice offers 11 Associate’s Degree Programs and 7 Certificate Programs leading to the first two years of a baccalaureate degree, to immediately enter the workforce or to achieve certification with an industry credential.

LSU Eunice is home to the Bengals comprised of three NJCAA Athletic teams that have won a combined 8 national championships in the last 10 years.  The campus student headcount is 2500 with just over 200 residing full-time in the Bengal Village residential housing complex.

The 200-acre, tree lined campus is located in Eunice in central southwest Louisiana otherwise known as “Cajun Country,” and 40 minutes north of Lafayette and three hours west of New Orleans.  The city is home to a branch of the Jean Lafitte National Historic Park and two state-wide festivals.

 

Summary of Job Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the matriculation of new students to the University.  The Admissions Counselor is accountable for territory management through best practices in relational marketing.  The candidate will be proficient with individual and group presentations, development and implementation of CRM communication plans, and the use of social media to communicate LSUE’s brand promise.  Admissions Counselors also assist with on-campus events, campus tours, and Bengal Preview Days.  Serving as the central liaison to prospective students, Admissions Counselors help applicants navigate the admissions, financial aid, and registration processes.  As a member of the Enrollment Management Division, the Admissions Counselor also supports retention and degree completion strategies.

 

Qualifications

Candidates will possess an Associate’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution and demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or Marketing with 2-3 years of related professional experience.

 

Salary

Salary is set at $28,500 annually.
