![]() Mardi Gras Information The next Mardi Gras is Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 3-31-08: It's been hard to find time to assemble Mardi Gras photos for 2008, but I will be attempting to add more over the next two weeks. Note: I have left my public relations position and returned to full-time teaching, so I will no longer be trying to provide a complete schedule of Mardi Gras activities in rural Acadiana. At present, I anticipate continuing at LSUE one more year before retirement. The calendar shown below is for 2008. Starting in early February 2009, I will post updated information I receive, and I will also include links to other sites with calendars and schedule information. –David Simpson, LSUE

Updated 2-6-08 Drive safely and obey speed limits. Law enforcement will be out on roads like Highway 13 and elsewhere. (FYI: State police on motorcycles issued tickets to LSUE students and others traveling on Highway 13 Jan. 22.) If you are coming on Highway 190, be especially careful as you enter Livonia (the town limits extend about 2 miles east of the traffic lights with a 55 mph limit), Krotz Springs (it's now 45 mph over the bridge), and Port Barre. Also law enforcement will be on the streets checking for underage drinkers. Have fun but obey the law. Return to Mardi Gras Main Page Return to Central Acadiana Gateway
