Once again, the weather did not cooperate, so
the 8th annual Geno Delafose Fan Appreciation Party had to be moved from Geno's Double D Ranch to the Northwest Community Center Pavilion in
Eunice. The rain had mostly stopped by the time things got under way
about 5 p.m., but a light mist began to fall later in the evening.
Geno and French Rockin' Boogie began playing
about 5:30 and kept going until after 7, when guest musicians came
on stage. The large dancing area stayed full, and meanwhile
everyone was treated to a delicious Creole meal courtesy of Geno and his
family. Music, food, dancing in a comfortable, easygoing
atmosphere with a great crowd of all ages: it was a priceless
experience offered free from Geno to his fans.

of his family, and his friends who helped out during the evening.
