After Hurricane Lili forced the cancellation of Geno Delafose's Fan
Appreciation Party in 2002, Geno organized a party in 2003 that pretty much doubled up on
the great parties he has given in the past. With a stellar group of musical guests, the
party lasted from 5 p.m. until 11, with Geno finally taking the stage about 10:30. In
addition to doubling up on the music, Geno, his family, and friends also cooked a double
choice of meals: you could choose from either beans and rice or jambalaya. And, as always,
everything was free, all courtesy of the generosity of Geno Delafose. Heavy rains the night before forced the event to be moved to the Eunice
Northwest Community Center Pavilion, where it has been held the last three times, but, one
of these years, the weather will cooperate, and fans will get to congregate on Geno's home
turf at the Double D Ranch in Duralde.
