At one point, some members of the crowd dancing to the music of the great young Cajun band T-Salé gathered in front of the stage to clap and cheer. Jean-Jacques Aucoin is shown on accordion. His brother, Louie, plays bass. They are grandsons of the late Cyprien Landreneau. Dave Trainer (with the beard) is on fiddle playing with guest fiddler Dirk Powell.

Chris Ardoin and his high energy Double Clutchin' Zydeco Band closed out Roots Heritage Day. His set included several Creole numbers, carrying on the music of his grandfather, Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin, and his father, Lawrence "Black" Ardoin.
