Bois Sec Ardoin in Breaux Bridge, 2003 |
In May 2003, Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin was on the road again from his home in L'anse de Prien Noir, traveling the Jazz Festival in New Orleans and then to the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival May 3, 2003, performing with Balfa Toujours.
As the crowd responded to his playing, he picked up the pace, showing that his fingers have certainly not lost their touch as he approaches his 90th birthday.
The great news is that he plans to record a new CD with Balfa Toujours during summer 2003, continuing a relationship with the Balfa family that goes back decades.
Kevin Wimmer, who is shown on fiddle, has also performed with other Creole musicians like Preston Frank.
