March 26, 2000

This year, because drought conditions severely reduced the supply of Louisiana crawfish, everyone was wondering if there would be enough crawfish and also if enough teams would enter the contest. As things turned out, even though the price of crawfish was very high, LSUE and other organizations, businesses, and individuals in the area remained committed to this great annual event, so there was plenty of great crawfish étouffée to go around. Pictured are members of the LSUE team accepting the first place award for showmanship in the clubs and organizations category. LSUE received second place in the cooking competition.

Other team members not pictured included Kay Mott, Suzanne LaHaye, Sharon Clark, Pam Deville, David Simpson, Margaret Young, André Menard, and Horace Darbonne.
