The future will belong to those who prepare today. In the new century, good jobs will
require specialized preparation. When you make a decision about your education, you are
also making a decision about your future. At LSU at Eunice, we are committed to helping
you prepare for the best future possible. To accomplish your goals, you need to strive for
excellence in everything you do. LSUE gives you the opportunity to challenge yourself to
reach new levels of achievement. We also offer support and encouragement along the
way to help you grow both academically and personally.
The LSU System.
As a member of the LSU System, LSUE has been able to assemble an exceptionally strong
faculty. Faculty qualifications exceed the standards set for four-year universities.
In addition, LSUE's affiliation with the LSU System has helped to establish a tradition of
excellence that has inspired both students and faculty to meet the highest standards.
Dedicated Faculty.
LSUE recruits nationwide to find faculty who are committed to excellence in their own
teaching and in the expectations they have for their students. Faculty offer students the
individual attention and support that they need to do their best.
Excellent Facilities.
Students have ready access to the state-of-the-art technology they need to prepare for
their future careers. Computer laboratories are available throughout the campus, offering
students Internet connections and a variety of software applications. LSUE has been listed
as one of the 100 most wired 2-year colleges by Yahoo!, an international Internet platform
accessed by millions of web-users every day. Nursing, radiologic technology, and
respiratory care laboratories give students an opportunity to practice clinical skills
before they go to off-campus clinical sites. Science laboratories are among the best in
the state at the freshman and sophomore levels. The LeDoux Library provides a variety of
resources students need to expand their knowledge and gain skills in searching for
information.
Undergraduate Research Summer
Institute. The Undergraduate Research Summer Institute provides a
unique opportunity for students to collaborate with faculty on research projects in a way
usually not possible until graduate school. Research completed as part of URSI has been
presented at national professional meetings and has also been published in research
journals.
Honors Program.
The LSUE Honors Program offers academically talented students an opportunity
to take special classes that they will find both challenging and rewarding.
New students applying for the Honors
Program must have an ACT composite scores of 25 or higher AND a math ACT of
22 or higher AND English ACT of 18 or higher. For additional information, go
to the Honors Program Page.
A Record of Achievement.
The commitment of LSUE faculty and students to excellence is evident in the performance of
students transferring to four-year college, the success of students in gaining admission
to professional schools, the record of graduates on licensing examinations, and LSUE's
strong academic reputation throughout the state.
Accreditation.
LSUE is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone number
404-679-4501) to award associate degrees.
Degree programs in nursing and allied health are also accredited by appropriate
professional accrediting agencies.
Other Recognition of Excellence.
The Division of Business and Technology has been registered as meeting
rigorous guidelines for quality management established by ISO, an
international federation of organizations that set standards in about 100
countries. In 2003, the division became one of the first academic units in
the United States to have all of its courses, associate degrees, and
certificate programs accredited as RAB Accredited ISO 9001: 2000 Certified
Quality Academic Programs. The accreditation signifies that all academic
programs meet the same international standards as other businesses and
organizations around the world. In short, LSUE
students are benefiting from the same management standards established at the top
companies where many students will be seeking employment after they graduate. |
