How do I Enroll at LSUE?

As an open admission university, LSUE accepts all graduates of state-approved high schools, as well as persons holding the G.E.D.

Affordable Tuition, Financial Aid, and Scholarships
LSUE's tuition is among the lowest in the state. In addition, because financial aid is available in several forms, no one considering college should be deterred by costs. To make sure that financial aid has been processed in time for registration, it is important to apply several months ahead of enrollment. For information on financial aid, contact the LSUE Financial Aid Office, (337) 550-1282. The office is located in Room 110, Acadian Center (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays). Scholarship information is available from the Office of Student Affairs, (337) 550-1218, located in Room 112.  You may also visit LSUE's Financial Aid Web Page for more information and links to financial aid forms.

Taking the ACT
The American College Test or ACT is used to help place students in English and mathematics classes as well as to assist counselors in providing guidance. The ACT is administered nationwide several times a year. For an information packet, contact the LSUE Office of Student Affairs, (337) 550-1218. Packets are also available at area high schools.

Applying
Application materials and a copy of the LSUE Catalog are available from the LSUE Admissions Office, P. O. Box 1129, Eunice, LA 70535; (337) 550-1305. The catalog is also available in PDF format on-line. The office is located in Room 102, Manuel Hall (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays). The Application for Admission to LSUE is now online! You must contact the Business Office to make payment arrangements for your $25 Application Fee by calling (337)550-1262. Unless you graduated from high school before 2004, neither you nor your high school will have to send a transcript to LSUE. By submitting your application online, you authorize the LSUE Admissions Office to request your transcript electronically via the Louisiana Board of Regents' and Department of Education's Student Transcript System.

In addition to submitting an application, state law requires that all students submit immunization records or sign a waiver. You may choose to electronically sign the waiver when you submit your application online or you may download the Immunization Form for submission to the Office of Student Affairs, located in Room 112 of the Acadian Center, (337) 550-1217.

By submitting your online application, you are agreeing to a Provisional Admittance until all required records and information are provided to the Admissions Office. If you have been asked to complete a Provisional Admittance Form previously, you may download the Provisional Admittance Form for submission to the Admissions Office, P. O. Box 1129, Eunice, LA 70535; (337) 550-1305. A provisional form should only be returned if requested to do so by the Admissions Office. A blank, signed provisional form will not be accepted. You must contact the Admissions Office to determine which items are missing from your application in order to complete the form properly. Students must provide all missing information indicated on the provisional form by the last day to drop without receiving a grade of "W" (typically the 14th class day during the fall and spring semesters or the 7th class day during the summer). Students failing to provide the information will be dropped from the roles after these dates.

Orientation
New student orientation is mandatory for all students attending LSUE for the first time. Get more information on orientation at http://orientation.lsue.edu where you can also register online for orientation.

Registration
Regular registration is held in late August for the fall semester, in early January for the spring semester, and in early June for the summer semester. Students who apply in time may take part in early registration, held during November and April. Specific dates for each year are contained in the LSUE Catalog.  With the addition of the my.LSUE system, students who have been cleared to register now have the option of enrolling in classes for an upcoming semester in advance of the regular registration period. Click here for registration information.
